We are looking for a few good women to serve as STEM career workshop presenters or interactive lunch-time exhibitors for this event!

Although more women are entering traditionally male-dominated occupations and have better opportunities than ever before, women remain underrepresented in many math, science, engineering, and technology fields .Women now earn over one-half of all bachelors degreed awarded, but only one-fourth of those are in natural science and engineering.

For example, women earn only 17.5% of engineering degrees; 18% of physics degrees; and, 29% of computer science degrees. At the pre-collegiate level, half the girls in grades five through eight report they plan to take only those math courses required to graduate from their public schools (Math Science Network, 2011).

By providing information, role models, and first-hand experiences with STEM professionals, EYH encourages young women to study math, science, engineering, and technology and increases awareness of the rewarding STEM career options that could be open to them if they keep their math and science interests open.
